Kyjov, Brno, August 1, 2024 – Project Controls, which is celebrating 25 years since its foundation this year, has once again significantly supported patients with cystic fibrosis. After the first donation of CZK 100,000 to support the activities of the CF Center in Brno, the company handed over additional funds in the amount of more than CZK 109,900. The move underlines the planned long-term collaboration between Project Controls and the Cystic Fibrosis Club (KNCF), which began this year. "Cooperation with the Cystic Fibrosis Club makes sense for us, it will bring positive changes and support where it is most needed," said Jaroslav Mrnka, CEO of Project Controls.

Improving care for patients with cystic fibrosis

The handing over of the second gift took place in Brno with the participation of MUDr. Lukáše Homoly, head of the Clinic for Children's Infectious Diseases and Mgr. Simony Zábranské, director and chairwoman of the Cystic Fibrosis Club committee, z.s.

"The patient center consists of a multidisciplinary team. In the Cystic Fibrosis Center of the Brno University of Applied Sciences, it consists of 30 specialists from various fields, the team consists of other experts who help patients with specific complications. These are physiotherapists, psychologists, geneticists and diabetologists," explained the composition and importance of the patient center MUDr. Homola and emphasized how the funds will be used: "The most beneficial thing for the patients themselves is that we are able to help with the part of the treatment that is not reimbursed. These are various physiotherapy aids, disinfectants and food supplements, which in total represents a significant amount. As part of the medical operation, we can increase comfort itself so that patients feel comfortable when they come for check-ups. We can also purchase specialized devices that can measure the condition of patients or disinfect surfaces."

Over 600 patients with this rare genetic disease are being monitored in the Czech Republic, half of whom are adults and half are children. Care is concentrated in five centers in Brno, Prague, Pilsen, Olomouc and Hradec Králové. The Cystic Fibrosis Club is preparing the baptism of a charity calendar, which will take place at the end of this year. Proceeds from this event will be donated to support patients with cystic fibrosis.
