Together with Ivana Šohajová, as supporters and donors of the Cystic Fibrosis Club, we visited the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Brno University Hospital.
We greatly appreciate the opportunity to meet with Dr. Barbora Alena Holčíková, Ph.D., and Dr. Barbora Kořenková, who gave us an insight into the operations of one of the most important specialized centers for the treatment of cystic fibrosis in the Czech Republic.
The Cystic Fibrosis Center at Brno University Hospital is the second-largest facility of its kind in the Czech Republic and provides patients with comprehensive diagnostics, treatment, and long-term specialized care. Its success is due not only to its state-of-the-art facilities but, above all, to the people who care for patients every day with exceptional professionalism, empathy, and dedication.
Cystic fibrosis is a rare genetic disease, yet it is one of the most common conditions in this group. In the Czech Republic, approximately one in every 6,000 live births is diagnosed with this condition. Thanks to advances in medicine, research, and modern treatment methods, the quality and length of patients’ lives have improved significantly in recent decades.
Our visit to the center reaffirmed that behind every medical success stand not only top-notch doctors and healthcare professionals, but also a community of people who are willing to help, support, and take responsibility for others.
We are proud that, through the Cystic Fibrosis Club, we can contribute to supporting the treatment of this rare disease and help where it is truly needed.
A big thank you goes to helping with us.

Fingers crossed!
GETTING USED TO EXERCISE
Starting to run can be a challenge for anyone, let alone someone living with cystic fibrosis. You may be worried about whether you can do it, whether your lungs will allow you to run for more than a few minutes, or whether training will exhaust you too much.
The good news is that anyone can run—you just need to find the right pace and gradually build up your fitness. And that's exactly what our training plan will help you with!
In the first phase, the goal is to get your body moving without unnecessary strain. It's not about speed or distance—the main thing is to learn to run regularly and maintain a natural pace.

Kyjov, Brno, August 1, 2024 – Project Controls, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has once again provided significant support to patients with cystic fibrosis. Following an initial donation of CZK 100,000 to support the activities of the CF Center in Brno, the company has donated a further CZK 109,900. This step underscores the planned long-term cooperation between Project Controls and the Cystic Fibrosis Club (KNCF), which began this year.
"Cooperation with the Cystic Fibrosis Club makes sense to us; it will bring positive changes and support where it is most needed," said Jaroslav Mrnka, CEO of Project Controls.
Improving care for patients with cystic fibrosis
The second donation was handed over in Brno in the presence of Lukáš Homola, MD, head of the Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, and Simona Zábranská, MA, director and chair of the Cystic Fibrosis Patient Club.
"The patient center is made up of a multidisciplinary team. At the Cystic Fibrosis Center at Brno University Hospital, it consists of 30 specialists from various fields, and the team includes other experts who help patients with specific complications. These include physiotherapists, psychologists, geneticists, and diabetologists," explained Dr. Homola, emphasizing how the funds will be used: "For the patients themselves, the most beneficial thing is that we are able to help with the part of the treatment that is not covered. These include various physiotherapy aids, disinfectants, and dietary supplements, which add up to a significant amount. As part of our healthcare operations, we can increase comfort so that patients feel at ease when they come in for check-ups. We can also purchase specialized equipment that can measure patients' condition or disinfect surfaces."
Brno, Kyjov, 4 June 2024 – Project Controls (Kyjov, Brno) and the Cystic Fibrosis Patients Club (KNCF) have announced the launch of a long-term collaboration aimed at supporting patients with cystic fibrosis. This initiative aims to raise awareness about cystic fibrosis while supporting patients and their families.
"The amount we have decided to donate is our way of contributing to improving the quality of life of patients with cystic fibrosis. We believe that cooperation with the Club of Cystic Fibrosis Patients will bring positive changes and support where it is most needed,"
said Jaroslav Mrnka, CEO of Project Controls.

The VW Passat with the internal designation B9 is planned for 2023. Again, it will offer two body versions, while also counting on a fully electric alternative. The Volkswagen Passat is already a traditional part of the German car company's offer, its first generation arrived as early as 1973. Today, its eighth generation is sold in Europe and although it is among the best-selling mid-range models in Europe, there was speculation about its possible end. But now it seems that the Passat is saved. From the 5th generation on development and delivery Bowden release systems also involve Project Controls. Since 2004, we have supplied the VW Passat model series 4,588,060 parts. We are proud to be part of this story.
